The musical legacy of John Williams is forever embedded in the hearts of movie lovers worldwide. He is also well known for television scores, music for the Olympic games and more. The Allentown Band and other ensembles frequently feature his music on concert programs. For this recording, the Allentown Band performs arrangements of some of Williams’ best-known music. Star Wars just had to be included as well as music from Superman, 1941, Indiana Jones and more. The Moravian College Choir (conducted by Dr. Paula Zirkle) joins the band with Hymn to the Fallen (Saving Private Ryan) and Dry Your Tears Afrika (Amistad). Violinist Stefan Xhori is the soloist for Theme from Schindler’s List. Another solid offering from the Allentown Band.
