Russ Howland

Russell Howland (1908-1995) was a student of Albert Austin Harding at the University of Illnois. After graduation, he spent most of his career as a bandmaster and instructor of woodwind at California State University, Fresno, becoming widely known as a woodwind specialist and an early advocate of the clarinet choir. He was elected to the American Bandmasters Association in 1954.
