Editor notes by Max McKee:
Presented to Bandworld Magazine by our good friend, Claude Pichaureau, past conductor of the Wind Orchestra at the Paris Conservatory in France, “Petite Brise Polynesienne” is intended as a sightreading miniature. We believe you’ll enjoy playing this short composition as a means of teaching specific styles with your own group.
The score and a complete set of parts can be found in this article.
A long-time supporter of our effort through Western International Band Clinic and the American Band College, Claude Pichaureau has provided us with a series of short “style pieces” for possible publication in future issues of Bandworld Magazine. I first met Claude while serving on adjudication faculty of Philippe Langlet’s Composition Competition in LeHavre, France in the late ‘80’s. Since that time Claude has appeared as guest conductor with the Western International Band Clinic Honor Bands (Seattle, November 1996) and the American Band College Directors’ Band (Ashland, July 1996 & 2003).
