Channel Classics CCS 40819 is titled Worthweill Originals and Channel Classics CCS 40820 is Rhapsody in Blue: Originals. The three Rimsky-Korsakov solos with band are among the works the composer wrote during his service as conductor of the Russian Central Marine Band. Also featured on the Rimsky &amp; Co CD are short works by Prokofiev, Gliere, Khachaturian, Shostakovich, Bortnyansky and Stravinsky. A rather significant composition for wind orchestra is also included in this collection; the 1947 version of Symphonies of Wind Instruments by Igor Stravinsky.
