Aaron Copland&#8217;s legendary band work serves as the title piece. A rare performance of Wallingford Riegger&#8217;s New Dance Op.18C is a special treat. Also included is the band setting of William Schuman&#8217;s American Hymn; both Ruegger &amp; Schumann have made multiple settings of these works. In addition, this fine collection features Laude (Howard Hanson), Prelude &amp; Dance Op.76 (Paul Creston), Dedication Overture (Vittorio Giannini) and Cheers!, a full band fanfare by Jack Stamp. Of particular interest is the concluding work; Symphonies of Wind Instruments by Igor Stravinsky. This particular setting is the original 1920 version which calls for alto flute and basset horn (or alto clarinet in F).
