Actor, singer, writer, director, musician ... Bruce’s talents encompass every aspect of the Theatre spectrum.
Born in Kenya of Scottish stock and educated at the Edinburgh Academy, Bruce gained an Honours degree in Performance Arts at Middlesex University, a Diploma in Dramatic Art at London University, and then his Postgraduate Diploma at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London’s Kensington - plus 3 Licentiateships at The Royal Academy Of Music.
After his theatre debut with London’s Regents Park Shakespeare Company and his West End debut at the Victoria Palace, he went on to work in Theatre, TV, Film and Repertory.
As well as working throughout the British Isles, he has circled the globe several times, performing, directing and producing. At the Edinburgh International Festival, his theatre company, COCKTAIL THEATRE AT THE SHERATON ran for 5 hugely successful years, and Bruce then went on to perform a number of sell-out one-man shows at one of Edinburgh’s most exciting venues, the Tron Kirk on the Royal Mile.
His company, THEATRICALITIES Ltd., provides performances, direction, scripts and productions for Bespoke Entertainment requirements internationally - ranging from Theatre and Arts Festivals to Corporate and 6-star World Cruising - to great acclaim.
As an accomplished and sophisticated cabaret performer, his solo performances range - musically and dramatically – from ‘West End’ to ‘West Side’, from Noel Coward to Sondheim, and (with a vocal range that encompasses Broadway to the Classics) his extensive repertoire has thrilled and delighted audiences worldwide, revealing a theatrical expertise like few other performers.
As an actor, he has been especially proud over the last decade of presenting an acclaimed Quartet of Shakespeare solo performances, which have played at Arts Festivals in The City of London, Chelsea, Covent Garden, Regents Park, Edinburgh and Bury St Edmunds. The Quartet was then adapted into a 2 hour solo show, and chosen as the leading Shakespeare presentation at the 2010 Barbados Arts Festival, as SHAKESPEARE : AS YOU LIKE HIM! to a standing ovation, and hailed by the British Theatre Guide as “A Tour De Force’!
